Power Bank Safety Guidelines
Must stay with you at all times
To mitigate possible risk of fires, please follow these safety reminders:
Fly safe and smart with Philippine Airlines!
- DO NOT PLACE POWER BANKS IN CHECKED BAGGAGE OR OVERHEAD BINS.
- Keep them on your person, or store them in seat pockets or under the seat in front of you.
- POWER BANKS MUST NOT EXCEED 160WH.
- Power banks not exceeding 100Wh (maximum of 20 pcs only) do not need an approval.
- Power banks between 101Wh-160Wh (maximum of 2 pcs only) need to be declared and approved at the check-in counter.
- To determine watt-hour rating of your power bank, Wh = (mAh x Voltage) / 1000 (e.g., A 20,000mAh power bank at 5V is 100Wh)
- PACK EACH POWER BANK INDIVIDUALLY TO PREVENT SHORT CIRCUITS.
- Tape overexposed terminals or place each battery in the original retail packaging, separate plastic bag, or protective pouch.
- CHARGING OF POWER BANKS IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED THROUGHOUT THE FLIGHT.
- PEDs may still be charged using your power bank or in-seat charging ports upon inflight announcement.
- Do not leave your charging devices unattended.
- Immediately notify cabin crew of any abnormalities or signs of overheating of your PEDs or power banks.
